Hello and welcome!
During COVID, my family was on vacation in our favorite little New Jersey beach town. While out shopping one day, I stumbled across a decoupaged shell. I picked it up, looked at it closely, and decided to make one as a craft with my then-11-year-old daughter. We combed the beach for just the right shells, gave them a good deep clean, and bought all the supplies for our endeavor. My daughter didn't care for the process, but I found it relaxing, and almost therapeutic. It combines my love of the beach with my love of creating. With a little nudge from some friends, I decided to make a few to sell. I knew from my first little pop-up that this was something I wanted to continue.
We are lucky to live in the beautiful and historic town of Annapolis, Maryland, and the Chesapeake Bay is within walking distance of our house. My favorite thing to do is walk along the beach at low tide. When the water recedes, it leaves behind all kinds of treasures like old bottles, sea glass, and of course, shells. We turned the act of finding these treasures into the verb "lowtiding". I use the shells that I find along the beach to handcraft all the pieces I make.
The shells seen on my website are a very small sample of designs that I've made. I can personalize shells with any image, text, or photo that you can think of. I will gladly brainstorm ideas with you to come up with a one-of-a-kind design for a gift, wedding favor, celebration of life remembrance, or any other occasion. Please reach out if you have any questions!
